The Wells Historical Society welcomes you to Mining the Motherlode: The History of Wells Website.

This site has been created using the Wells Historical Society's Archives and is based on previous volunteer research into the history of Wells and it's colourful mining past.

Though this site focusses on the 1930's and 40's when Wells was at it's populus and economic high, there is also small sections dealing with pre and post 1930's.
